Affiliate Disclosure
Some links on Marketing Guy are affiliate links. This page explains exactly what that means, how we track clicks, and the rules our recommendations follow.
The short version
When you click an affiliate link and later buy something, the vendor may pay us a commission. It never costs you extra — the price you pay is the same whether you use our link or go directly to the vendor.
Commissions help keep the tools on this site free. They do not buy editorial positions: a product is recommended because it fits the decision the tool is about, not because it pays the most. Where a recommendation is paid, you will see a clear label next to it.
How outbound links work here
- Affiliate and source links route through an internal redirect (/go/<key>). The redirect records the click (time, the page or tool it came from, and a pseudonymous visitor ID — never your name or email) and then sends you to the vendor's site in a new context.
- Citation and evidence links also route through /go/ so we can measure interest, but they always land on the original article or source being cited — not a sales page.
- We only see aggregate click counts per partner and placement. Purchases, trials and commissions happen on the vendor's side; we verify them in each affiliate program's own dashboard, and we do not publish guessed or inflated conversion numbers.
Editorial rules
- Product facts (pricing, features, limits) belong to the vendor — we link to their official pages rather than restating numbers that may go stale.
- We do not fabricate testimonials, test results, ratings or commission figures anywhere on this site.
- Tool pages stay clean: recommendations appear in clearly labeled recommendation slots, never disguised as tool output.
- If a partnership ends or a product declines, the recommendation comes off — links are managed centrally and reviewed.
